Some people make to-do lists. I make to-buy lists. From impractical bags I absolutely need to book lingerie (!), this is everything currently haunting my dreams and tabs. Proceed with caution: this wishlist is dangerously clickable.
PS: I have never been offered an affiliate link in my life, so, when I say I want something, I really mean it!!!
I took an interest for sustainable loungewear not too long ago, when chronic pain and weight gain made everyday comfort a priority. And boy are we miles away from Victoria’s Secret’s hot pink, rhinestoned, and questionably flammable garments, designed to survive no more than one Valentine’s Day and a round in the dryer (if you’re lucky). Today’s loungewear is polished, intentional, and deeply tactile, designed to move seamlessly from morning rituals to midnight musings. If I could, I would have an endless supply of Printfresh’s Eco satin robe in every print.
How about loungewear for your books too? I’m not even joking: book lingerie—an embroidered organza pouch for books—is a genius marketing idea by 831 Stories. Completely useless, but also really cute. Give me.
You know what goes well with loungewear? Pillows! From AMC’s Interview With the Vampire, this one features an original design inspired by the iconic decorative ironwork gates of the French Quarter. If you’re fully committed to the show, you might want to snatch an Armand pillow as well!
Now that you have your robe, your pillows and your book, get extra cozy with an Anthony Bourdain woven blanket, perfect for dreaming about distant lands and culinary treasures. If Anthony won’t do it, go for David Lynch, Burt Reynolds, or Johnny Cash. There’s plenty of choice with Rosehound Apparel, a Canadian brand rooted in nostalgia and pop culture.
What I like best about Rosehound Apparel is the choice of quirky ceramics. Oyster plate ashtrays, fast food receipt coasters, match striker boxes: I want them all.
haricot vert is one of these brands that I check out periodically but never buy anything from. I almost did a few months ago, but shipping was ridiculous—over $50 for a single pair of earrings!!! It’s a simple concept—picto-charms sourced from royalty-free archives, vintage books, magazines, flyers, and different types of ephemera that bring collages alive—but no one does it like them. Their dangle sets are spectacular! I really like the storybook secrets pack.
You know how I love a good novelty purse, and I just found Ali Baba’s cave: a one-woman operation specialized in hyperrealistic bags and coin purses inspired by food. Browsing Rommy de Bommy’s website makes me feel like a cop in a doughnut shop. There’s the TV dinner purse, the chocolate box purse, the dill pickle purse, the cursed SpongeBob popsicle purse, and more! You can even get a custom purse. All hand-sculpted with clay and a little bit of magic…
Paul Koudounaris is an American author, photographer, and art historian who has garnered recognition for his unique exploration of death, religious ritual, and memorial culture. His book Memento Mori, which I own, is a globally focused photographic and anthropological exploration of death culture that takes us from Bolivian skull rituals to Capuchin crypts in Italy, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Not sure how I only just found out about Faithful Unto Death, an investigation of animal mausoleums, pet cemeteries, and rituals around mourning animals that melds historical research with detective storytelling (e.g., uncovering even 19th‑century fish graves!) 🐟 💀
Thistle and Spire, a size-inclusive lingerie brand from Brooklyn, makes the cutest, sexiest embroidered sheer bodysuits. I’m obsessed with this one. And this one. And this one.
I have been sewing with pizza scissors like a dummy since I lost my fabric shears a few months ago. These are really cute.
If you ever wanted to dress like you’re stepping out of a Tim Burton or Guillermo Del Toro film set, you’ll love La femme en noir, a LA–based brand focused on sophisticated, horror-adjacent fashion that combines vintage Victorian silhouettes with modern goth glam. Most of it is too fancy for me to wear without a special occasion, but this belt from the Crimson Peak collection would be perfect to elevate a basic black dress. PS: a lot of items from the Betelgeuse and Sleepy Hollow collabs are currently on sale!
Oh, summer! Nothing will ever make sunburns and excessive perspiration cute, but a bitch can try. When it’s hot but not enough to feel like you’re about to melt into a puddle of boob sweat, trade your battery-operated neck fan for an old-fashioned, stylish analog model from Dirt Squirrel.
Saddled with provocative mattes and crystalline shimmers, Kaleidos eyeshadow palettes are lightweight, long-lasting and easy to blend, even for an idiot like me. The vibrant hues and pigment-rich formula are perfect for the summer. I’m excited to try the multichrome eyeliners and creamy lip clays.
Lazy Oaf is one of my favourite fashion labels. A bit anti-fashion, a bit art school dropout, it’s fashion with a wink, designed for people who never quite outgrew their sticker collections or the thrill of wearing mismatched socks on purpose—like me! The dog print on this tote bag reminds me of an old granny vest. I love it.
Okay, I know we’ve had two bags already, but I couldn’t pass on this recycled purse made of pop aluminum tabs!
Not everyone knows, but A24 has an array of really cool guest-edited zines that extend its film universe into tangible form. The series includes a feminist folklore issue by Greta Gerwig, a survival guide to the Satanic Panic by Ti West, an immersive puzzle book inspired by Heretic… collectibles that would fit right at home in my zine collection. Unfortunately, the folks at A24 have decided to be dicks and the zines are only available to AAA24 members, a subscription that is only available in the United States.
These cooling shorts by Thigh Society are all over my feed since summer started. I’m not really sure how it works, but I’m under the impression that they pull heat away from the body more than they actually cool you down. Still, I’m grateful for anything that can make this hot and humid summer more bearable!
Until next time!!!!!
